Morag & Claudia’s Story

I’m Morag (on the right) and I arrived at Halfpenny Farm in 2021. I was born blind which meant I was deemed unsuitable by the commercial farm where I lived. My future was uncertain until Mike and Louise came along and offered me a home where I could thrive.

Being blind meant I could not live out in the large field with the other farm sheep. Mike and Louise gave me my own shelter where I am warm, comfortable and safe. I share this space with my best friends: Claudia and Mason.

I don’t like strange places or loud noises, and I have come to rely on Claudia to be my ‘guide’ sheep. Here is her story:

Hi there, my name is Claudia and I came to live at Halfpenny-Farm in 2022. I had a bad back leg, and my owner felt it wasn’t safe to put me out in a field with other sheep so they looked to re-home me.

Mike and Louise agreed to take me in and they introduced me to Morag. We soon became the best of friends. We both like the same things:  being out in the field in the summer as long as it’s not too hot and munching on delicious food prepared by the volunteers. To ensure Morag knows where I am (and where the food is) I wear a collar with a small bell attached so she can follow the sound and doesn’t feel alone.

We may have arrived at Halfpenny separately but we are truly bonded; living our best lives together.
