Credence’s Story
Hi there! I am Credence and this is my story.
In 2024, I was a young feral cat surviving by scavenging for scraps and hunting under the cover of darkness. Life in the wild was harsh. My instincts drove me to kill domestic birds to eat, and I soon discovered that my behaviour wasn’t acceptable to their owners. I was caught and taken in by Mike and Louise at Halfpenny-Farm.
Halfpenny-Farm was a world unlike any I have ever known. In the wild, my nights were spent exposed to the elements, my days consumed by the drive to find food and evade danger. Everything changed when I reached the farm. My new home offered me luxuries I had never dreamed of: a warm safe place to sleep; meals on demand; yummy treats and toys to play with. For someone like me, who had known only survival, these simple joys became my favourite part of daily life.
However, being feral means I don’t generally like people. I prefer to keep my distance, although I’ve managed to build friendships with some of the other cats, finding a sense of belonging with my feline companions.
I like my independence and most days you will find me outside in the cat run, relaxing in the sun, while keeping an eye out for volunteers passing with treats.
At Halfpenny-Farm, I’ve been given a chance to live without fear.
