Blackberry’s Story
Hi I’m Blackberry! I’d like to tell you how my life changed dramatically in 2024.
I was found abandoned by the side of the road in Aberdeen in a terrible state: extremely thin and understandingly timid. A kind member of the public reached out to Mike and Louise and asked them if there was space for me at Halfpenny-Farm.
Under their attentive care, I began to recover. Slowly but surely, I gained weight, and my timid exterior gave way to a friendly and affectionate nature. The process wasn’t quick, but the patience and compassion of the volunteers at Halfpenny-Farm helped me heal.
I was a little nervous to visit a vet, but it was an important part of my recovery plan. I needed to be vaccinated and neutered to ensure a healthier future. These steps might be routine for most animals, but they marked a significant turning point in my new life.
Among all the daily joys in my life, feeding time is my favourite. This cherished routine is not just a necessity but a highlight of my day. However, I must admit I have developed a memorable personality trait: an endearing tendency to sulk when my breakfast is late!
Halfpenny-Farm is more than just an animal sanctuary. It’s a place where I am loved and cared for. I have gone from a roadside rescue to being a cherished part of the farm’s family.
