Belle’s Story
Hello! My name is Belle. I came to live at Halfpenny-Farm in 2017 at the age of 4.
I had been bred for showjumping but, as a foal, one of my legs didn’t develop like the rest and I couldn’t be ridden. My owners no longer wanted me and that’s where Louise and Mike at Halfpenny-Farm stepped in to help. They gave me a new home, cared for me and made sure I wasn’t alone. They even found new friends for me in the horses and ponies that live at the farm.
There’s a certain charm to life on the farm. My days are filled with companionship, fresh air and plenty of food. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, and nothing lifts my spirits like the crispness of an apple or the crunch of a carrot. I love treats!
Whereas my friends at Halfpenny-Farm are relaxed and placid, I must admit, I’m a bit of a diva. I like things just right, and I’m not afraid to let my mood show if things don’t go my way. Can I be temperamental? Sometimes, but that’s part of my charm! It’s these little quirks that make me who I am.
This is my life at the farm – with my friends by my side, the warmth of the sun on my back, and the crunch of a carrot between my teeth, I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my days.
